Experimental Sketchbook

This past week I have been experimenting with two styles of photo editing. I used words to simplistically add a short caption. They are personal thoughts and sayings. In my other photographs, I experimented with  using photoshop. I found that by layering parts of the picture you can use effects to edit the layers separately, showing a very interesting result.

"The Bird(s)"  I used photoshop to layer, made some edits to the color and used memory stamp to copy parts of the image over and over.

These two photos (the one above and below) are two different versions of what you can do with changing the backgrounds without editing the main color of the photo. For the spikes I used liquefy to change the emotion of the image. For the one above I turned the whites into blacks and darks.

This photo I used the space generated by the camera to frame my wording.

For these two photos (above and below), I used photoshop. I separated the photos by the top and bottom areas and layered them. I increased the brightness on the top part of the picture while putting the bottom in B&W (bottom photo). I then used sepia on iphoto effects to create the picture you see above.

For these three photos (the one above and the two below) i used captions and separated the groups of words and faded them into the picture if necessary.

  2. Photos #8 and #9 are great. I love the image and the caption on the 8th once, but on the last image the caption is very intriguing and leaves you wondering. I also really like the way you places all of your words and letters.

  5. Love the second shot. The contrast between the foreground/background is really well done. I love how it evokes an almost horror film feeling.

  6. Great photos Hadley! I really like your third and seventh photo. I really admire how you made the vibrant colors stand out and catch the viewers eye. I especially like the wording of your quote on your photo, and how you placed the words. It makes the photo much more interesting and detailed.
