Profiles

Ingrid: In Ingrid's photo series, she captures different emotion in her subjects and combines them. Ingrid's photos are black and white, they capture different body posture that reflects the emotion of the people in her pictures. For my profile of Ingrid, I captured her in her own style by combining two different pictures of her, with a minimal background. My photo of her reflects not only the style of her photography, but also her bright personality and real emotions that are conveyed in her body language.

Lian: When looking through Lian's photos, I noticed that many pictures had this hint of something that was 80's-like. She takes pictures from different angles of signs, machinery and items that you'd find in vintage stores. For my profile of her, I tried to take the 'vibe' I got from her photos to create and appropriate portrait of her with simple features that you see in her own photos. I tried to match the color tone of her photos with that of the background, her hair, and her skin tone, and combined the attitude of her with that of her own photographing style.

Max: In Max's series, he takes photos of people conveying real emotion. He takes his photos in Black and White, with the subject never dead centre. In my portrait of him, I tried to capture his own emotion on a flat, non-distracting background, in black and white, with lighting that barley gives of shadows.

Josh: Josh's style of photography is very colorful. It focuses on a subject and it gives off many different shades of a color that blend together so well. In the photos, he grabs the viewers attention with the perfect shade of a main color that the surrounding colors must match. For my profile of Josh, I took a photo on a white background that wasn't too bright. I edited my photo so that the color of his shirt fades into the lightness of his skin tone, which brings out the deep brown in his hair. The combination of color gives off that something that draws the viewer into the picture.

Kandyce: Kandyce's photography style is very subjective. Many of her series contain images of its subjects with repeating patterns. Whether it is buildings or patterns there is always multiple parts that are repeating. The color style she uses is very bold, yet faded. For my profile of her, I used photoshop to create a photo of her that emphasizes how bold she(the subject) is and the faded repeating images blending in to the color fading of the image perfectly.

LongLong: Long Long's style of photography is very creative. His photos are very experimental. For my profile of him, I experimented a lot with photoshop. I choose the background I wanted and had him do something to mimic spongebob. Then, I added spongebob to the photograph of him.

In my photos, i use a lot of edit. For this self-portrait I used boost color and fade color. Boost color creates the bold red that pops out. And fade color blends the colors of the photo perfectly together.

Best Of Series

Best of Series
For my series, I was photographing abstract street subjects. Walking around this neighborhood in San Francisco there is so much to see, but when you take the camera and point it at something, you are taking just a small shot of a big, big world. These photos are just a small piece of a very large puzzle. With each photo, I challenge the viewer to try to picture whats behind the actual photograph.

Abstract Series Draft

for this week's draft i continued my abstract photographs. i tried to improve this week's photos by getting closer to the subject so that it makes the viewer more intrigued by making them think about what the rest of the image could be. i also edited a lot more than i have for other abstract series.
